This role is based in the Careers and Student Enterprise Service which is the career, employ-ability, and enterprise nucleus of the University of East London. The goal of the Service is to support every student to achieve career success, gain the skills for the 21st century workforce, and build direct pathways to employment. The Service’s mindset has innovation and creativity at its core. To improve progression, retention and graduate outcomes, the Service utilises innovative careers tools and resources. This is a one-of-a-kind department with highly motivated staff providing a quality service to students and alumni.

About the Job

We are looking to recruit an MBA Administrator to work under the direction of the Director of the MBA Programmes to provide PA, executive, business and administrative support to the MBA Programme and staff.

As a Placement Career Coach, within the Postgraduate Placement Team, you will play a central role in preparing students to undertake their placement year. This will include a full cycle of induction, workshop delivery, 1-2-1 coaching, undertaking due diligence activities to ensure placements meet the standard, through to supporting students while on placement and finally signposting them to additional resources and opportunities as they graduate.  You will work in a cross-organisational mode, building contacts across the university 

and as such there’s rarely a dull moment. In addition, you will support the wider Careers service representing the team at Careers Fairs, both on and off-site, as well as participating in welcome activities for new students at all levels. About You

Successful candidates should have proven  experience in 

  • Preparing, supporting, and developing individuals and/or groups for placements, work experience and/or other work-based learning activities.  
  • Developing and delivering high quality, interactive learning materials, paper-based and web-based and delivering skills development workshops or other training and development activities in groups and 1 to 1 setting.   
  • Managing projects and creating and adhering to efficient administrative processes and having excellent IT skills with clear proficiency in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and use of the internet.  
  • Career coaching, job placement, or recruitment. 
  • working with students or young professionals, preferably in a university or placement program setting.
