The Opportunity:
This BHF-funded project is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the BHF Centre for Cardiovascular Science at University of Edinburgh, and microscopy technology developers at University of Glasgow, to develop and exploit our teams' innovative beating-heart microscopy techniques. These imaging technologies allow for long-term timelapse imaging at a subcellular level in the beating zebrafish heart, offering unique direct-imaging insights into cardiac development and disease. Your role in the project will be a unique opportunity to apply these novel capabilities to study cardiomyocyte proliferation, cytokinesis and cell patterning during normal development, and following interventions that model cardiomyopathy, heart failure and cardiac injury.
This post is fixed-term for 3 years with full-time hours (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
The salary for this post is £40,247 to £47,874 per annum.
