Are you experienced in event planning and delivery? Are you passionate about climate and social justice? University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for a Research Development and Design Assistant to join our Teaching, Learning, and Employability Exchange on a part-time basis.
As a Research Development and Design Assistant, you’ll play a key role in achieving the goals of our Climate Action Plan. Creating a just, sustainable future is at the centre of our mission, and our Climate Action Plan aims to actively engage our students in discourse relating to climate and social justice and to create work of environmental, cultural, economic and social value.
You’ll assist with the delivery of staff development events, working closely with the Exchange Coordinator and Administrative Assistant to support the booking process and enhance the audience experience. You’ll assist with digital design choices and draft text for event listings, web communications, and learning resources, as well as utilise your strong research and analytical skills to collect data and identify further opportunities for climate justice work.
In addition to your event planning and delivery responsibilities, you’ll also provide general administrative support to the Educational Developer: Climate, Racial and Social Justice with operations. This will include room-booking, scheduling, liaising with speakers/participants, occasional finance support and follow-up communications.
About you
We’re looking for a well-organised and collaborative individual, with previous experience in event planning and delivery and an understanding of the concept of Climate Justice and how it applies to higher education.
You’ll demonstrate excellent communication skills and will be proficient in the use of design software (e.g. Adobe Suite, InDesign).
You’ll also possess strong research and problem-solving skills, along with previous experience in the use of administrative and record-keeping systems.
