The Student Services department has a central role in that experience, ensuring that the best possible information, advice, guidance and support is in place to enable students to be active and successful in both their academic and social activities.
The Disability Service, which sits within Student Services, is seeking an appropriately qualified and experienced Disability Adviser and DSA Needs Assessor to provide a full range of disability advice and support provision to students, including DSA Needs Assessments. Currently up to 700 students, with a range of disabilities, are known to the service.
Educated to degree level or equivalent and presenting excellent communication skills, you will be experienced in the provision of support to students with a wide range of disabilities including undertaking disability needs assessments. You will have an understanding of the processes in Higher Education related to applications for Disabled Students Allowance, coupled with knowledge and experience of using a variety of dyslexia screening tools as well as assistive technology.
This role can be worked flexibly, for example worked over three days, or during school hours.
