The integrated Center for CCI Research examines the new directions for CCI as a discipline.

Description

The Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Chapman University invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track, Instructional Assistant or Associate Professor of Creative and Cultural Industries, with an expertise in fashion industries beginning August 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in fashion industries and related fields.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and innovative course content that reflects current trends in the field.
  • Mentor and advise students on academic and career development.
  • Participate in program service activities including student advising, committee work, and curriculum development.

Qualifications

Required

  • Background in fashion industries and one or more of the following areas: fashion histories, fashion and media, fashion and marketing and/or fashion and culture.
  • PhD in appropriate field or equivalent terminal degree.
  • Experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

Preferred

  • Expertise in a related field of fashion and/or creative industries.
  • Familiarity with social and cultural theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

For the appointment at Associate Professor level, a candidate will have relevant teaching experience (ideally 5 years full time or part-time equivalent); some evidence or research publications would be an advantage.

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000. This position is contingent on final budget approval. Successful completion of a background check is required for the final candidate.
