The Programme on Cohesive Capitalism is inviting proposals from early career researchers wishing to pursue an independent research project whose themes align with those of the programme, including pre-distribution and supply side economics; the nature and value of good jobs and how to promote them; economic institutions that support dignity, respect and equality; cohesion, community, solidarity, and the institutions that support them; the study of alternative economic paradigms and how they evolve.

The Programme on Cohesive Capitalism is a major new multidisciplinary initiative to investigate new politico-economic paradigms, institutions and policies that could serve the common interest. This role is a chance to be a key member of the Programme at an exciting time in its growth and development. We would welcome applications from a wide range of fields including economics, political science and political theory.

The objective of the postdoctoral position is to complete a significant piece of publishable research and contribute towards building the Programme more widely. The successful candidate will be working as part of a community of world-leading researchers and will be based at the Suntory and Toyota International Centres for Economics and Related Disciplines (STICERD) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Candidates should have:

  •  recently completed a PhD or be close to obtaining a PhD in a relevant discipline by the post start date;
  •  proven ability, as evidenced by existing publications, or potential to publish in top journals in relevant fields;
  •  a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.

The role would suit a candidate in the first three years post-PhD, including someone who may already hold a teaching position elsewhere but is interested in spending time at LSE.

For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, job description and the person specification.
