Applications are invited for a Research Associate (Postdoc) to join the Prorok Lab in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge, UK.

The Postdoc will work together with a team of students and research collaborators on the development of continual learning algorithms for heterogeneous robot teams. Particular focus will be the design of new paradigms for distributed cognition under the constraint of limited on-board memory and compute.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, substantial machine learning experience, and confident hands-on experimental skills.  A high degree of self-motivation, research-oriented thinking, and a drive for getting real robotic systems up and running are all essential traits.

The position is for 2 years in the first instance, and will be renewed on a yearly basis. This project is funded by a UK-wide AI Hub (https://www.informed-ai.net/) and the candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with network partners.

Requirements:

Candidates should have (or be near to completing) a PhD in Computer Science or a related subject, or relevant experience. Required documents include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a brief research statement, and contact information for two to three references.

The Prorok Lab in the Dept. of Computer Science & Technology, has a variety of robotic platforms (aerial and ground), and boasts expertise in controlling and deploying them in practice, as well as in designing coordination strategies for them.
