We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.
Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.
As part of this, the Directorate of Student Services provides high quality services and student support to diverse learners, both in-person and online, to maximise their potential for success.
We are looking to recruit a talented Systems Officer to make a significant contribution to the delivery and development of our services. The Student Services Systems Officer will ensure effective day-to-day operation and lead the development of several information systems enabling service delivery and enhancing the student experience. The student case management system; student hub and MyCumbria student information web site underpin the wide range of services provided by Student Services.
Qualified to Degree level or with relevant equivalent experience, ideally in a higher education setting, this is an exciting time to join our newly formed team. Working closely with the Library and Information Systems Manager, Directorate Managers, front line staff and system users, you will be able to demonstrate a good student/customer-focussed approach to your work and excellent networking skills to liaise with a range of internal and external partners. You will be involved in the planning and delivery of user training. In addition, you will regularly liaise with system users; system suppliers and colleagues in IT Services to resolve application and interface problems, alongside ongoing system development.
Your main base will be the Lancaster campus with some travel on occasions to our other campuses. Hybrid working arrangements can be supported for this role in line with business need.

We offer a comprehensive set of staff benefits which includes a competitive salary, 35 hour full-time working week, 33 days holiday plus bank holidays, hybrid working in line with business need, and an excellent pension scheme with 8% employer contribution.
