Leeds Law School has been teaching law since 1924 and provides a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses. We have a long track record of achievement and student success and in all our activities we ensure excellence in teaching, learning and student experience.
We are investing in our academic provision, including the launch of new postgraduate programmes to support students in preparing for the SQE. We wish to appoint inspiring and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer. We expect all our staff to contribute to our provision and help deliver a high-quality student experience.
Candidates for the Lecturer role should hold a UK undergraduate law degree, or GDL (CPE), and a Masters qualification. Candidates should hold a full legal professional qualification with relevant post qualification experience, and have experience of teaching and learning on professional legal courses in an HE or equivalent setting. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a commitment to research and publication at REF level. Successful candidates without a doctorate will be expected to enrol on a doctorate qualification.
Candidates for the Senior Lecturer role should hold a UK undergraduate law degree, or GDL (CPE), and a Masters qualification. They should hold a full legal professional qualification with relevant post qualification experience, or a doctorate. Candidates should be able to demonstrate evidence of research and publication to REF level, including successful funding applications (research and/or knowledge transfer).
The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and should have experience of teaching at least one of the Foundations of Legal Knowledge. Preference will be given to those candidates who can deliver teaching in one or more of the following are:

Candidates should be research active and it would be advantageous for applicants to have published in the areas of teaching need identified above.
Occasional overseas travel may be required.
