You will assist in the process of setting out and preparing for undergraduate practical classes. This will involve preparation and distribution of sterile solutions, standard solutions, general reagents and materials, under instruction from senior staff. You will also assist in the cleaning up after practical classes including ensuring safe disposal of contaminated glassware and plastics.
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
About You
You will have vocational qualification NVQ Level 2 or 3, or education to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent, or relevant experience in a similar work environment.
In addition, experience of microbiological and biochemical lab work including good aseptic techniques.
You will have good communication skills (verbal and written) along with experience of working in a team and an ability to use own initiative.
You will have good attention to detail and accurately review and record information as well as an ability to follow written instruction and guidelines.
You will have general Operational IT Skills
Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and COSHH in relation to running undergraduate classes would be of benefit.
