A 2-year Research Technician post is available at the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences (LMS) within the Cardiovascular Genomics and Precision Medicine headed by Prof. James Ware. The LMS is a world-class research laboratory where scientists and clinicians collaborate to advance the understanding of biology and its application to medicine. Funded by the MRC as part of UK Research and Innovation, the LMS has a collaborative working culture and new state-of-the-art building based in the heart of West London in the Hammersmith Hospital Campus.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative technician with a background in bioinformatics. You will provide support in the management of our extensive human genetic sequencing datasets. You will also be involved in the development and implementation of pipelines for variant calling across various datasets and their analysis under supervision. You will assist in maintaining accurate and complete records of analysis projects while always ensuring the validity and reliability of data and methods. You will also be involved in collaborations both within the MRC-LMS and with our external collaborators. For more information on what we do visit www.cvgenetics.org
The successful candidate should have a BSc degree in an appropriate scientific subject and experience in managing, curating, and analyzing scientific data. They should also have the ability to organise their own time effectively, priorities and work to deadlines.
