The role of Senior Software Engineer

As a senior software engineer you will be engaged in hands on engineering, developing features spanning the whole stack. Working with our Lead Engineer and CTO, your role will involve scoping out critical requirements to inform developed features that enable scientific code developed by our R&D team to get into the hands of our customers. You will help to maintain product uptime and work to continuously improve resilience of our stack. You will be work collaboratively with members of our product, regulatory and commercial teams to fully understand the problems you’re solving and to ensure benefits are felt by our end users.

Neuronostics is revolutionising diagnosis and prognosis of neurological conditions. We create algorithms and software which can be used to aid medical professionals to gain more value from EEG data than ever before.

Neuronostics is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join the team and play a key role in enhancing and expanding our product lines.

About you:

  • You want to use technology to have a positive impact on people's lives.
  • You're a motivated and capable engineer with enough experience to consider yourself a senior engineer.
  • You're driven by the impact your creations can have.
  • You're a pragmatist who knows which details are worth immediate in-depth analysis and which can be contained and revisited.
  • You're an excellent written and verbal communicator.
  • You have experience in creating and scaling production web applications.
  • You value high quality integration tests.
  • (bonus) You have experience of working on "software as a medical device" products.

The role involves:

  • Working within the tech team to scope out features and requirements for taking scientific code from our science team and getting it into customer’s hands.
  • Hands on engineering, developing features spanning the whole stack.
  • Helping to maintain product uptime and continuously improving resilience of the stack.
  • As we continue to hire, some time will be spent mentoring more junior members of the team.
  • Collaborating with the product team, science team and end users to fully understand the problems you're solving.

Current technology stack:

  1. Python (Django, NumPy) - Strong knowledge of python is the only must in this list
  2. HTMX, JS
  3. Postgres
  4. AWS + Docker + Aptible (PaaS)
  5. Terraform
  6. Testing with Pytest & Playwright
