About the role:
We are looking for a Security Assistant to join our Estates and Facilities Department based at Tresham College. As a Security Assistant you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students by:
Completing routine patrols of the assigned campus to ensure the maintenance of good order in the premises, and monitoring behaviour on site
Assisting with different types of emergencies; first aid, fire alarms, bomb alerts, floods, gas leaks
Responding to reports of intruders on site and other crime related incidents
Undertaking first aid training and being a college first aider
Being responsive to the personal radio system and reacting responsibly and efficiently to calls for assistance
Checking student and staff ID cards to prevent unauthorised persons entering the college buildings
Dealing with disruptive, aggressive and challenging behaviour and if necessary, removing offender/s from college premises, acting in a professional manner at all times
About you:
SIA training & licence
Literacy and communication skills and excellent verbal and written English
Minimum of 1 year’s work experience in security
Experience of working in a customer focussed environment
Willing to obtain a basic level of health and safety knowledge
Experience of working with the public and experience of working with young people.
