The UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology is a global leader in neuroscience and is at the forefront of the mission to translate neuroscience discovery into diagnostics and treatments for patients with neurological diseases. The Institute is made up of eight research departments that each focus on specific themes within the overarching area of clinical and basic neurological research.
The Department of Neurodegenerative Disease, based in the QS ION, is internationally leading in the study of neurodegenerative diseases causing dementia and related disorders, with a strong focus on mechanistic dissection of genetic, molecular cellular and neuropathological processes which underlie neurodegeneration in particular diseases as well as across the neurodegeneration spectrum.
We are now recruiting a Departmental Administrator to manage the departmental operational processes and take responsibility for the day-to-day financial and operational management of the department, including financial and grant administration, research governance, and oversight of staffing and students. As the most senior administrative position within the department this is an exciting and varied leadership role, with the opportunity to line manage staff, be involved in a range of activities across the department, and facilitate cutting edge translational research for patient benefit.
The post is available from 17 March 2025 to facilitate a handover with the current post holder, and is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% of time on site.
If you need reasonable adjustments or a more accessible format to apply for this job online, or have any queries regarding the application process, please contact the Institute of Neurology HR Team (ion.hradmin at ucl.ac.uk).
Informal enquiries regarding the role can be addressed to Institute Manager, Dr Helene Crutzen (h.crutzen at ucl.ac.uk).
Application deadline: 23:59, 13 October 2024; we expect to hold interviews on 09 December 2024.
