Research Assistant (Fixed term, Part time)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Assistant to join the Institute of Mental Health at the University of Nottingham on the LEND (Lived Experience Narratives in Dementia) programme. The position is based on Jubilee Campus. 

The Institute of Mental Health is a unique partnership between Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Nottingham, bringing together healthcare staff and academics to lead mental health research designed to improve diagnosis, treatment, and care.

The purpose of the role is to support the development of a specific narrative-based intervention that is designed to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia and their support partners. Over work packages 1 to 3, LEND researchers will be expected to conduct research interviews, collate and organise narratives, support the development of the LEND theory, support the develop of the inventory (INCRESE-D) that will categorise the narratives, and eventually, support the design and delivery of a feasibility study, prior to the delivery of a randomised control trial for both people living with dementia and their support partners. 

The role provides an exciting opportunity to work with experienced researchers, to become actively involved with the Institute of Mental Health, University of Nottingham, and to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders who are taking a leading role in shaping the future of dementia research that aims at improving the quality of life for people living with dementia. We are looking for a highly motivated research assistant, with the relevant knowledge of the latest social sciences methodology and approaches and with passion to make a difference for people living with dementia. Applicants must have good organisational and administrations skills and be able to work with all levels of stakeholder. Given the specific requirements of the LEND Programme, the applicants must have a Masters in a relevant field.

The post will be offered as a part-time (14.5 hours per week), fixed-term position, available until 30th November 2027.
