We have an exciting opportunity to work with the respiratory group at the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) at the University of Nottingham. The successful applicant will join our multi-disciplinary research environment to work on research utilising both large health related datasets as well as smaller clinical study observational databases to assess recovery from acute lung illness and understand the recovery period further as well as the impact of co-morbidities and in under-served populations. Competence in statistics, statistical packages and cleaning and manipulating large datasets is essential. 

The successful applicant will be based at the Respiratory theme of the NIHR Nottingham BRC at City Hospital campus within the academic unit of Translational Medical Sciences, School of Medicine, University of Nottingham. There is a strong and active respiratory research group with a long track record in utilising epidemiology alongside clinical translational research to answer key management aspects of chronic lung disease and aim to improve the patient experience. Applicants should hold a PhD (or close to completion of) or equivalent in relevant subject area or the equivalent in the research areas of public health/epidemiology, biostatistics, or computer science. This project requires a highly motivated and driven candidate. The work will primarily have a standard Monday to Friday working week pattern. 

This is a fixed-term post available from 1st December 2024 until 30th November 2026. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 21.75 hours per week).
