About us
The Department of Anthropology at UCL is a research-led department with an international reputation, offering innovative teaching programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The department is one of only a few broad-based anthropology departments in the UK comprising five sub-sections: Evolutionary and Environmental Anthropology, Social Anthropology, Material Culture, Medical Anthropology and Public Anthropology.
About the role
We are looking to appoint a part-time (0.5 FTE) Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Creative and Collaborative Enterprise for nine months, starting in January 2025.
You will be responsible for preparing and delivering teaching materials, supervising and grading dissertations, and providing excellent academic support for students. You will collaborate closely with department members to ensure the teaching provision meets the students' requirements.
For informal enquiries, please contact Professor Gregory Thompson.
For queries regarding the application process, please contact the HR Department.
About you
You must hold a PhD in Anthropology or a closely related field combined with a strong background in Applied Anthropology or the Anthropology of Enterprise and the ability to contribute to teaching on the MA Creative and Collaborative Enterprise programme.
We seek a candidate dedicated to inclusive, practice-based education who will enhance the department's teaching and learning profile and the student experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Additionally, you will need experience marking essays and giving constructive feedback to students in writing and in person.
Please ensure that you submit a supporting statement as part of your application in addition to a CV and that you address each of the essential criteria in your application. When we shortlist, applications are scored according to how they meet each of the essential criteria.
