Location: White City Campus on site only.

About the role:

The Royce Thin Film Device Materials Research Platform, in the new Imperial College White City Campus, is a fully integrated laboratory. It enables the creation of Thin Film devices using novel materials and includes materials preparation, deposition, patterning, characterisation (e.g., X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy) and device testing facilities. You will provide pro-active and high level technical, administrative, and operational support for the Research Platform. You will ensure it operates smoothly, efficiently, and professionally, following Department and College policies where applicable.

What you would be doing:

You will provide technical support for the laboratory, in addition to excellent customer service for internal and external users of the Research Platform. You will be expected to support the Platform’s purchasing, financial and operational processes, in addition to managing office and lab space. You will also provide administrative support to key Royce academic staff.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience of working in an administrative office within a technical core business providing excellent customer service • Proven experience of managing and completing multiple tasks alongside each other
  • Proven experience of supporting work in a technical environment • A high standard of computer literacy and the ability to proactively use IT: Microsoft Office; email; database; spreadsheets (Excel), presentations (PowerPoint).
  • Interest in science and engineering research and development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • An ability to work methodically, to use initiative and to prioritise and plan activities.
  • Ability to explain and understand administrative processes.
  • An ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and enthusiastic and used to working independently.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach and self-starter Human Resources Division
