The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Professor Jon Blount. This internally funded post is available from 6/1/25 until 9/1/26. The successful applicant will support Professor Blount primarily in relation to research but also contributing to education and other activity as needed. A key aspect of the role will be writing a number of manuscripts for which data has already been collected. Therefore, a strong publication record and eagerness to write manuscripts are essential.
The post will include the analysis and interpretation of the results of data which has previously been collected and writing up the research for publication.
About you
The successful applicant will have a strong publication record and an eagerness to write manuscripts, be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) in animal ecology / ecophysiology or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study, and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to analyse complex datasets using a range of statistical modelling techniques and to produce manuscripts for publication.
