Scholars School System, a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB, a registered charity founded in 2006), is seeking an Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning (Business) across all campuses, including Birmingham, Manchester, London, Bradford, and Leicester, based in the Birmingham campus.

Purpose:

Scholars School System seeks an Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning (Business) to provide leadership in delivering and promoting the highest quality teaching and learning for SSS. You will manage the day-to-day operations of business programs across all campuses, ensuring academic standards are met and all requirements of collaborative partnerships are followed accordingly.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to all staff involved in the delivery of SSS business programs and positively influence professional services staff.
  • Promote and enhance the highest quality teaching & learning for SSS students on our collaborative business programs.
  • Manage daily operations of business programs across campuses, including travel to all campuses and collaborative partner sites.
  • Ensure students experience the highest quality teaching, learning, pastoral support, and careers advice in business education.
  • Ensure academic standards are met through the assessment process and that marking criteria of collaborative partners are consistently met by all teaching staff involved in student assessment.
  • Responsible for reports for SSS academic governance structures, partnership meetings, including quality reports to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality assurance and enhancement requirements of collaborative partnerships are fully followed and applied across all business programs.
  • Liaise and act as a key point of contact with staff at partner institutions.
  • Attend current partnership meetings, ensure timely production of high-standard reports, and address recommendations/suggestions promptly.
  • Ensure staff and students make full use of provided learning resources.
  • Deal with academic student issues in a timely and professional manner using appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to efficient and effective use of resources provided by SSS across its campuses.
  • Responsible for teaching and learning as per OFS Standards Requirements.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • A professional approach with integrity at all times
  • Leadership and management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in business program management
  • Experience in upholding academic standards and enhancing student learning experience in business education
  • Experience working in partnership with universities and other higher education-related organizations
  • Knowledge and understanding of implementing internal quality assurance systems and external quality assurance, including the QAA and Office for Students
  • Recognized teaching qualification e.g., HEA

Desirable:

  • Experience of quality assurance reviews in business education
  • External examining at UK universities and other higher education providers
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, experience in database management preferred
  • Senior leadership experience in business education
  • Travel to other campuses required (Driver's License preferable)
  • PhD in Business related field
  • Ideally minimum 4 years of UK experience in HE business programs
  • Evidence of proven track record in a similar role within business education

  • Basic hours are 9am to 6pm on site

  • Holiday entitlement is 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Up to £5k annual incentives pro-rata given quarterly on meeting KPIs upon successful probation period
  • 3% annual increase per year on completion from your start date of service and meeting KPIs
