We are looking to appoint a research administrator to join the growing NEUROSEC Team (Neuroscience, Ethics and Society (NEUROSEC) Team) , led by Professor Ilina Singh. NEUROSEC has an international reputation for its work in neuroscience ethics and psychiatric ethics. The team is uniquely situated within Oxford Psychiatry and Neuroscience, building collaborative research relationships with scientists, clinicians and public stakeholders, whilst maintaining a critical perspective and a portfolio of independent research projects. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital
The post is for a fixed term (funded for 2 years with the possibility of extension) and is full-time
You will lead on oversight of Team research budgets and spending, working closely with the Department research services teams, the Team Research Manager and the PI, and ensuring that Team processes are shared, understood and implemented, meeting University governance requirements. You will provide administrative support to Professor Singh and team members including travel and expenses, committee work, arrangements for new starters and visitors.
You will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject; or relevant specialist training in business administration, finance, economics, or similar and experience of working in a Higher Education Institution (HEI). Demonstrable ability to independently manage complex budgets across multiple projects and people within a Team and to support training and development of staff within a multi-level Team are essential. Experience of working in a business, finance, human resources or other relevant context and experience of research related to mental health science would be desirable.
