Fixed Term Contract for 6 months

Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £28,929 to £29,674 per annum, pro rata (18.5 hours per week) 

Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire

We welcome applications from passionate, and committed candidates with relevant knowledge, skills and experience to join our team to contribute to textiles manufacturing and dyeing process.

About the Role

You will work on a natural fibre-based textiles manufacturing and dyeing for sustainable fashion applications. The project work will involve textiles fibres manufacturing process using wet fibre spinning process and textiles dyeing using natural dyes. The RA will carry out further characterisation of the fibres using SEM, optical microscopy, FTIR and mechanical testing.

About You

The qualifications and skills required are as follows:

  • MSc degree in engineering or science discipline
  • Experience in cellulose fibres manufacturing and testing
  • Experience in textiles dyeing using natural dyes
  • Experience in contributions to academic and industrial research grant writing
