The University of Southampton is committed to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and has set out an ambitious vision for a more sustainable University and a pathway to get there. This ambition was created by working with students, staff and the local community. The pathway sets out six goals to achieve the sustainability targets and Sustainability forms one of the University’s strategic plans under the title University of Southampton’s Sustainability Strategic Plan.
In order to develop the Plan, we need an Administrator to be based at Boldrewood Innovation Campus who will be embedded within the core team of the University’s Sustainability Implementation Group (SIG) and the Sustainability Strategy Board (SSB). As an Administrator, and as specified in the job description, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to senior academic staff within the SIG. and SSB.
You will apply a good working understanding of administrative systems to support the coordination of the University’s Sustainability Strategy Plan and its activities as well as supporting the team in organising meetings, minute taking and engagements activities with our internal/external stakeholders.
You must have previous experience within an administrative role and be able to work independently, to manage workload and meet tight deadlines, and work as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role and awareness of University processes and regulations would be an advantage.
This initial appointment period is extendable depending on performance in addressing the role fully and fit within the team.
