We are seeking a part-time Programme Manager for an EPSRC-funded programme grant in tidal stream energy at the Department of Engineering Science. The programme, “CoTide - Co-design to deliver Scalable Tidal Stream Energy”, will support innovation to accelerate technology development for the tidal stream industry. It brings together a multi-disciplinary team of around 35 academics and researchers from four world leading centres at the universities of Oxford, Edinburgh, Strathclyde and Sheffield. The role is part-time at 0.5FTE (some flexibility in this is possible) and is based in Central Oxford. The post is fixed-term until 30th June 2028.

As the Programme Manager you will assume responsibility for the management of the grant under the direction of Prof. Richard Willden. The focus of the role is on delivering operational management to support the technical activities of the programme, as well as on dissemination and interaction with the programme’s wide industrial stakeholder group. You will help to integrate the programme with existing research projects and develop future research programmes. The role will involve working with key individuals from the partner academic institutions, industry, regulatory bodies, technology transfer offices, funding agencies and other stake holders. You will be responsible for the fiscal management of the programme, preparing interim and final reports, and maintaining accurate and detailed plans and records. You will be responsible for communication, web and social media presence and events management.

You should be educated to degree level or possess equivalent experience. You must have experience of administration or project management in a research environment. You will possess a flexible attitude, excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills as well as excellent problem-solving skills to identify solutions to technical, operational, delivery and financial issues.
