Job details

We are looking to recruit a Research Fellow to work within Stroke Research Team in School of Nursing and Midwifery, in the first instance to assume the delivery of the Institute for Applied Health and Wellbeing and Knowledge Exchange (LIFE). The post-holder will have responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the Institute working alongside experienced colleagues. This is a fixed term contract for 24 months due to limited funding.

The post-holder will also contribute to the research profile of the University by conducting world-leading research in Stroke Research Team. The post holder will be supported by experienced researchers, whilst further developing their own skills and experience in health research. To take responsibility for the provision of high-quality research and scholarly activity within the specific projects and other agreed areas of research.

The Research Fellow will contribute to and secure external competitive grants and contracts and publish high impact, peer reviewed papers independently and in collaboration with others. They will participate in the training and dissemination of research with peers, undergraduate and postgraduate students and external agencies and organisations, as well as collaborate in the ongoing supervision of postgraduate students and research assistants.

The Research Fellow will contribute to the external esteem and international recognition of the research undertaken within the thematic areas.

A PhD (or equivalent) in education, health or social care is essential to the post, as well as research skills including literature retrieval, data collection and analysis, evidence synthesis, and critical appraisal.
