About the role

The Bodleian Libraries are seeking a Porter/Services Driver to join our small support team based in Osney Mead.

Dealing extensively with internal and occasionally external customers, you will provide a professional and efficient service at all times. You will assist with moving furniture and equipment, first line maintenance tasks and will play an active role as required in emergency situations. You will drive various library vehicles for the movement of people and goods around the University estate as well as sort and deliver incoming and outgoing mail. You will maintain clear and accurate records, lock/unlock buildings, set/deactivate alarms and respond to general enquiries.

This role involves lone working and regular manual handling.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working 36.5 hours per week with two shift patterns on a rotating basis: 8:30am-4:00pm and 10:30am-6:30pm.

About You

You will have experience in a customer facing environment and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the organisation.

You will hold a current driving licence.

You will be able to undertake significant levels of manual handling and lifting tasks, work well with minimum supervision and communicate effectively.
