The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) is a leading institute for biological research. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to contribute to the smooth running of the governance functions at the LMB.
As a member of the Scientific Operations team, you will support the Scientific Operations Manager in areas of governance such as audit, Data Protection and Freedom of Information management. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of the Conflicts of Interest and Gifts and Hospitality registers.
You will maintain the LMB’s Research Continuity Plan, keeping all documentation up to date, and support the Scientific Operations Manager and Chief Operating Officer (COO) in running scenarios. You will also assist staff in using corporate travel systems and act as a conduit for sharing of information from UKRI and the travel provider.
You should be educated to degree level or equivalent with relevant work experience in an academic or public sector environment and an empathy for the scientific goals of the LMB. You should have experience of dealing with governance matters at a high level. You will also possess excellent IT, analytical and numeracy skills, good oral and written communication and time-management skills and have the ability to use initiative to work under limited supervision.
Full training will be given in all aspects of the post and you will be able to participate in the LMB’s wide range of staff development opportunities.
We are able to offer this role on a full-time or part-time basis (minimum 25 hours per week). The LMB has a collaborative working culture and state-of-the-art building based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
