About the Role:

Are you a friendly, proactive individual with a passion for helping others? We are seeking an Access to Services Reception and Student Support Officer to be the first point of contact for tutors, staff, and students.

This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations, providing support, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. You will work closely with colleagues across the organization to ensure all concerns are addressed promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front Desk Management: Serve as the initial friendly face for students and visitors, handling enquiries via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Public Area Maintenance: Ensure all public areas are clean, comfortable, and up-to-date with relevant information and safety notices.
  • Health and Safety: Act as Fire Marshall, provide First Aid, and manage housekeeping issues, reporting problems as necessary.
  • Visitor Assistance: Welcome external visitors, provide health and safety information, and ensure they are comfortable and informed.
  • Course Information and Advice Guidance: Offer advice and information guidance to potential students, ensuring they have all necessary information for course selection and enrolment.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with enrolments, maintain accurate records, and support tutors with resources and equipment.
  • Security: Support the opening and closing of the building, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Student Engagement: Promote activities, respond to enquiries, and support events to enhance student and member engagement.
  • Finance and Reporting: Handle cash counting, banking, and manage student Oyster card top-ups.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.

  • Basic IT skills and familiarity with AV equipment.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.
