We are recruiting one Clinical Research Fellow 3 years, with a view to also completing a PhD with the University of Manchester. There will be an initial probation of 9 months.

The Fellow will support the clinical studies for a new Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Innovation Hub. This is funded by a new award from the CF Trust, with the current post funded by the North West Lung Centre Charity. The Innovation Hub is a multi-centre initiative, led by The University of Manchester, to look at the causes of exacerbations in CF.

The Fellow will help set up and deliver the clinical studies that underpin this award, and will work closely with basic scientists and clinical colleagues in Manchester and elsewhere. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment and acquire a wide variety of transferable skills, including but not limited to: clinical research; data analysis; airborne pollution; lung symptoms; respiratory viruses; and exacerbations.

The successful candidate will already be registered with the GMC and should have experience of working in the NHS and respiratory medicine. Prior research experience is helpful but not essential.

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
  • Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
  • Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
  • Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers
