About the role:

The Research Programme Manager will have responsibility for the strategic, scientific, outreach and managerial oversight and operation of research projects involving a significant level of international collaboration and engagement with leading research and policy institutions.

What you would be doing:

You will  provide overarching strategic, scientific, outreach and managerial oversight and support for a global research programme on environment and health, with emphasis on the health impacts of climate change and adaptation strategies.

You will also  conceive and support new grant applications and build new collaborations in different areas of environmental health and global health. You will work with the PI and other team members, while being responsible for planning and organising your own work.

You will also be responsible for overseeing and managing the work of a Project Coordinator/Manager

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an individual who will:

  • Take management responsibility for collaborative activities with research partners including deliverables, timelines and communication
  • Plan, organise and oversee regular scientific/collaborators meetings, and meetings with external partners and stakeholders; carefully write and distribute well-organised meeting reports and track follow-up action points
  • Be the first point of contact in interactions and engagement with external partners and stakeholders, and be responsible for prioritising and directing external requests to appropriate team members and partners
  • Act as a contact/liaison for interactions with the funders, advisory groups and with other consortia working on related research
  • Take a major role in identifying new funding opportunities, prepare background supporting material for funding applications and coordinate the application process
  • Oversee and coordinate the completion and submission of reports to funders and advisory groups, and organisation of site visits
