Could you be our new external Remuneration Committee Member? Would you like to share your expertise and strategic insight to support us in applying our pay and reward systems fairly and robustly?

Joining the Remuneration Committee

These are exciting times for the University. We’re looking to strengthen and diversify our Remuneration Committee with a new External Committee Member who shares our ambitions and values, and reflects our inclusive community. The experience, skills and enthusiasm of Committee Members are crucial to shaping the direction and development of the University.

We are seeking outstanding individuals with the intellectual capacity, commercial acumen and strategic leadership insight to support us in applying our pay and reward systems fairly and robustly.

Applications are invited from candidates with experience and background in strategic reward frameworks within the public sector or charitable organisation(s).

If you have relevant experience at a senior level and would like to be considered, do get in touch.

In this rewarding and rare non-executive opportunity, you will make a significant contribution to the future direction of the University. We are home to the curious, the brave and the bold. If you share our passion and have the requisite skills and experience, we would be keen to hear from you.

Remuneration Committee Roles and Responsibilities

Council sub-committee members contribute a wide range of knowledge and expertise to complement the executive management responsibilities of the Vice-Chancellor and the University’s senior office holders.

The University’s Remuneration Committee is responsible for determining the remuneration and conditions of service of the University’s senior staff, as well as overseeing the salary review process for all University employees.

To further enhance the existing expertise available to the Committee, we are seeking an outstanding individual to join the Committee as an External member with particular experience in strategic reward frameworks.  Applicants will have a full appreciation of the particular obligations of institutions with charitable objects and accountability in determining pay and reward systems as well as the requisite intellectual capacity, commercial acumen and strategic insight to support us in applying our pay and reward systems fairly and robustly.

As a Member of our Remuneration Committee you would be expected to contribute the equivalent of approximately 4 days a year to the University. This will include on-site attendance at and engagement with Council sub-committee meetings, normally once per year as well as two half day induction events.
