The Department of Economics and the Department of International Business & Strategy seeks to appoint a part-time Research Assistant (2 days per week, 14 hours) to work on a project “Improving Staff Retention at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT) – Econometric Data Analytics, Probabilistic Forecasting and Management Intelligence”. This is a joint research project between the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT) and the University of Reading. Thus, you will join a team consisted by academics and practitioners.

You will have the following duties:

  • Clean and format the secondary historical data from RBFT staff in an anonymised format.
  • Identify key factors for staff retention by using econometric methods.
  • Develop a probabilistic forecasting model for staff retention and evaluate the forecasting performance.
  • Transpose the model to live data to predict future staff leaving risks.

In addition, you will be expected to produce academic papers to be submitted to academic journals, prepare research reports, and present the findings to academics and practitioners. You will gain valuable research experience in the analysis of a large database.
