The Role

We are looking for a motivated and effective individual to join us as Director of Academic Services for the School of Health and Care. Sharing our passion for education and health and social care, you will play a key role in the transformation and development of the School, providing supportive team leadership whilst embedding new ways of working within the School as it evolves.

The School of Health and Care currently delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and post-graduate courses for professionals working in health and social care settings, alongside a large portfolio of CPD courses, with several bases throughout the UK, and numerous international partnerships.

As Academic Director you will understand industry needs and create different models of health and care education that supports the rapidly increasing and changing sector, whilst also ensuring that the educational direction aligns with the Group’s vision and values.

You will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership, ensuring effective communication and high levels of collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team whilst developing and delivering the School annual business plan as we strive to globally deliver dynamic high-quality education to health and social care professionals.

Our Successful Candidate

This role requires strategic thinking, external relationship building skills, leadership acumen, and a passion for delivering innovative and outstanding educational experiences. You will have a strong profile as an academic or practitioner, providing evidence of leading and implementing good practice alongside the ability to support and contribute to the development and delivery of curriculum, transnational education partnerships and international commercial projects.

As Academic Director, you will demonstrate both a UK and International focus, as this role will require global leadership and growth.

We are committed to being responsive, supporting and educating the current and future health and care workforce in collaboration with providers. As Academic Director, you will lead this team with an inclusive leadership style, demonstrating a strong ability to collaborate internally and externally with multiple relationships and partners for the School.

The successful candidate must have a track record of leadership and managing change with evidence of successful transformations.

Qualifications Required:

  • A PhD plus experience in the relevant subject area or an equivalent level of professional experience alongside a postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject.
  • Recognised teaching qualification in Higher Education and/or recognition against the UK professional standards framework.
  • Extensive evidence of leadership within a Health and Care and education sector.
  • Hold professional registration.
