We are The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment. Individually, our departments lead their fields. In partnership, they develop new responses to pressing world issues. Overall, The Bartlett is number one for Research Power in the built environment field. As part of the Bartlett faculty office, the Research, Impact, Policy, and Engagement (RIPE) team supports, develops, and sustains the vibra ncy of the Bartlett’s research, engagement and impact environments. RIPE does this by leading on strategic faculty projects, creating and deploying cross-faculty infrastructure, and developing and sharing our knowledge and expertise. Through our services and principles of transparency, equity, clarity, and reflection, RIPE develops and sustains research and impact environments that inspire and empower our colleagues to create important and impactful research and partnerships. We create the conditions for our collective research and impact environments to be equitable, rigorous, connected, and dynamic.

The post holder will provide key data analysis and insights for the research, engagement and impact environments of The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment. The post-holder will work with primary data sources from within and outside of the faculty, maintain a repository of analytics, and provide regular reports and insights. The post-holder provides this analysis to support RIPE’s cross-faculty support programmes and strategic projects, and as a crucial mechanism for creating conditions for our environments to be equitable, rigorous, connected, and dynamic. Main duties and responsibilities include developing our repository of data analytics and providing regular and by-request data and analysis of key research and impact performance indicators, particularly those concerning research funding, engagement activities, and output evaluation. The post-holder will also contribute data and insights to the faculty’s submission for the Research Excellence F ramework. RIPE is undertaking an exciting expansion, with new roles, activities, and focus creating a unique opportunity for the post holder to influence the faculty, and to further develop their own interests and career.

Applicants should have experience of gathering and analysing data from various and complex sources and using this data to create management reports and visualisations. We are seeking applicants with experience of providing in-depth analysis of statistical information and other data, including the analysis, manipulation and combination of different datasets, and with experience of using management information tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI). Strong organisation skills are essential, and we expect applicants to show a willingness to reflect, develop, and grow within the role.
