Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position within the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Southampton. The work will involve generating a variety of semi-analytic and semi-empirical models to probe supermassive black hole and galaxy evolution in a cosmological setting. The data generated from this work will be used to support specific working groups within the Euclid, LSST, and SKA surveys, and the most relevant results will be included in scientific publications.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or an equivalent professional qualification and experience in Astrophysics. Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.  The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

We are looking for a self-starter, able to organise own research activities effectively who is able to plan and justify focus on extensive research that will result in published papers in academical journals. The successful candidate will have an ability to clearly document and communicate research results.

You must be able to work effectively and indedpendently, organize your own time, tasks and responsibilities with your manager and other colleagues from the University and outside.
