The UCL Centre for Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is UCL’s new institute for infrastructure and innovation in digital research - the supercomputers, datasets, software and people that make computational science and digital scholarship possible.
We are an innovative hybrid: a professional services department that delivers reliable and secure infrastructure and services to UCL research groups, and a laboratory for research and innovation in the application of advanced computational and data intensive research methods, working in partnership with academics from all fields.

About the role
A Senior Research Infrastructure Developer will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the computational software and infrastructure that drives UCL’s research.
They will build both persistent services with large numbers of users, and also bespoke solutions for specific research groups.
About you
We are looking for a HPC/Storage infrastructure or systems admin with experience in managing, monitoring and running hardware based platforms in on-premises data centres.
Experience of hardware management, monitoring or research computing/storage are essential. Experience of parallel storage and backup is highly desirable.
You should have experience in one or more of these ; HPC - GPFS / Spectrum Scale - Lustre - hardware - Servers - Datacentres - Spectrum Protect - GitHub - Operating Systems - Linux - backup - Archive - GPU
