Applications are invited for a Temporary Part-time (0.6FTE) post of a Research Scientist within UCD School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy.
A Research Scientist is sought for the EU project WaterLANDS (Water-based solutions for carbon people and wilderness) which will contribute to the upscaling of restoration of wetlands across Europe. WaterLANDS supports hands-on restoration of specific wetland sites and creating best practice models that can be applied to other sites. The project is working with local communities and stakeholders to ensure that restoration results in social, economic and environmental benefits for all.
This high-profile five-year project is led by University College Dublin and brings together 32 organisations, research, industry, government and non-profit sectors in 14 European countries.
The Research Scientist will work collaboratively with a core management team in UCD of 5 people, including the Project Coordinators. This role will require the post-holder to occasionally attend offsite events and meetings which will involve some travel and overnight stays across Europe. The appointee will operate in an evolving environment where duties and responsibilities will be subject to review and change over time, though will remain within the broad remit of the role.
Salary: €45000 - €57000 per annum pro rata
Appointment in the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
