IT Services at the University of Manchester is a vibrant and fast-moving department, we focus on delivering excellent customer service and quality services for our staff, students and researchers.   

The Team  

An exciting opportunity for a Developer – M365 has arisen in the Digital and Innovation function.  This individual will join a small team of Analysts who provide excellent ongoing support, build self-service functionality and play a significant role in the ongoing development of extensions to key M365 technologies, such as SharePoint, Teams and the Power Platform.   

The Role 

As a Developer in the M365 team you will be an integral part of a team responsible for helping to deliver and support key features and applications on the M365 platform, which are increasingly playing a vital role for IT Services and the wider University.  

Reporting to the M365 Team Lead, you will work closely with colleagues and customers across the University.  This is an exciting opportunity to play your part in helping to shape the future for the Digital and Innovation function and play a significant part in the delivery of IT solutions.  

The Person 

  • Experience of development, configuration and support of features and services using Power Platform Technologies (e.g. Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Virtual Agents) 
  • Experience of developing solutions to automate business/technology processes 
  • Good working knowledge of SharePoint and Teams development technologies 
  • Experience of PowerShell scripting language  
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in new technologies associated with M365 
  • Ability to work as part of a team to meet shared goals and objectives 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

Desirable Criteria 

  • Experience in a broad range of delivery methodologies, including waterfall and agile  
  • Experience of working in a University or a Higher Education environment  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Online
