The University of Exeter is seeking a Business Development Manager- NIHR Exeter BRC Industry Engagement in the Health and Life Sciences Sector Team. This is a full-time post and is available immediately on a fixed-term contract basis until 31 March 2028.
Exeter Innovation (EI) is the professional team that supports and drives the University to engage with external stakeholders to deliver impactful and meaningful research that makes a difference in the real-world.
The National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) Exeter Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) is the first of its kind in the South West Peninsula. As a partnership between the University and the Royal Devon University Hospital Foundation Trust, and in collaboration with NHS organisations, the NIHR Exeter BRC translates scientific discoveries into tangible benefits for patients. The NIHR Exeter BRC represents a £15MM investment from the NIHR and aims to help the partners run more clinical trials to get effective treatments into the clinic where they can benefit people and improve diagnoses.
The Business Development Manager – Health and Life Sciences NIHR Exeter BRC Industry Engagement role leads on the development of collaborations with industry, organisations and government partners. The post holder will support the delivery of the NIHR Exeter BRC industry strategy to engage with external organisations to drive income generation and spinout opportunities. They will work closely with the Business Engagement and Innovation (BE&I) NIHR BRC team including the Associate Director for BE&I, the Professors in Practice (PiPs) and Experts in Residence (XiRs).
