The American University of Paris is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as the next Director of Career Development. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and implement engaging career development programs that align with AUP’s strategic objectives for students, as well as playing a critical role in supporting overall student success and increasing retention and persistence to graduation. Collaborating with campus and community partners, as well as employers, will be a key aspect of this role, allowing for meaningful connections that enhance our students’ career opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Career Advising Team as well as the general management of the Center. This role oversees the development, assessment, and planning of quality career development advising and programming and coordinates with administrative and academic units across the University to develop and implement policies and procedures and to promote programming to support student progress towards degree progress and completion and of co-curricular and career opportunities.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
You will have a high level of organization and a demonstrated leadership and management capacity. You should have experience in program design, development, and evaluation with a willingness to work toward goals and targets. Strong communication skills are required as is a familiarity with American higher education, particularly in the liberal arts. Experience with the French legal framework and processing of internships in France is required. You should have professional proficiency in French- fluency is a plus, as is work experience in a French language / cultural context.
