Main duties and responsibilities
To provide strategic direction, cohesion and research leadership as a senior academic, thereby contributing to the success of the School and to support, contribute and lead a cumulative programme of research and generate significant research grant income through local, national and international collaborative projects. In addition, the postholder will sustain and develop a reputation and a research team at the forefront of social work research and undertake cross-sector working to benefit populations with a history of marginalisation or poorer social care and wellbeing outcomes.
Skills and experience required
You need to have a strong national profile in Social Work with a developing international trajectory and have lead authorship/role in the preparation of recent high quality, peer reviewed outputs reflecting independent research and demonstrating 3-4* significance. You will have developed and submitted successful and substantial applications for external research funding as the lead or co-applicant.
Qualifications required
PhD in Social Work or related subject and current membership of external bodies relevant to the field.
