Main duties and responsibilities 

The post holder will be accountable for project set-up, planning, tracking of milestones and achieving outputs. This role will require the development of strong relationships with key multi-organisational workforce internal and external stakeholders, the proposal of initiatives in line with University and ICS regulations with efficient use of resource, coordination and support of multi-organisational priorities and needs, and the design and monitoring of a workforce project with action plans including timescales, risks, resource and cost.  

Skills and experience required 

Substantial experience in one or more of the following sectors: public sector, health, social care, higher education, and/or further education, and an understanding of further/higher education qualification landscape is essential for this role.

Substantial project management experience and good operational knowledge of project management processes and techniques, with a proven understanding of how to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders to ensure effective use of resources, delivery of outputs, and coordination with senior managers internally and externally. Experience in producing detailed workforce project plans and reports, coupled with the ability to gather and analyse data to inform decision-making and evaluation.

Excellent communicator with good interpersonal and presentation skills, a confident and influencing manner, able to build and develop excellent working relationships with senior managers and be a team player. Proven experience facilitating and leading workshops, events, and meetings with internal and external stakeholders, organizing, administrating and chairing meetings, and developing and delivering proposals and initiative to senior management.

The ability to work independently using your own initiative whilst contributing to the team, good organisation and time management skills, prioritising your time effectively working to deadlines. Proven ability to set objectives, negotiate, influence and persuade colleagues across multiple organisations whilst delivering a customer focused service.

Excellent IT Skills and the ability to use business tools with fluency in Microsoft office programmes. Good analytical and practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail, and the ability to deal with sensitive material in confidence using tact and diplomacy where appropriate. A confident, highly self-motivated individual, committed to both the universities and ICS equality and diversity objectives and your own professional development. This role requires you to represent the programme, University, and ICS in a professional manner embodying the organisational values of the university.

Qualifications

Educated with a degree and/or equivalent professional qualifications or proven relevant experience.
