About the Role

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for music and education? BIMM University is seeking an exceptional individual to take on the role of Associate Dean of Music Production. As the Associate Dean of Music Production, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Dean of Music to ensure our students are at the heart of everything we do. Your leadership will drive curriculum excellence across all our campus locations, ensuring that our teaching practices remain at the cutting edge of the creative industries.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and Innovate: Develop and enhance our curriculum and assessment strategies, ensuring they meet industry needs and set new standards in music production education.
  • Enhance Student Outcomes: Collaborate with key stakeholders to improve student and graduate success, from continuation and completion rates to graduate employment.
  • Support Staff Excellence: Oversee tutor recruitment and academic development, fostering a culture of teaching excellence and creative scholarship.
  • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Work closely with the Dean and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategies that enhance the student experience, particularly for international students.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with university policies, contribute to governance, and maintain high standards of quality and integrity across the subject area.
  • Act as a Deputy: Serve as a credible deputy for the Dean, including chairing exam boards and addressing student disciplinary issues.
  • Collaborate Across Departments: Work with various teams to promote student well-being and success, and to ensure that our marketing and admissions activities reflect our subject specialism.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A postgraduate degree or equivalent industry experience in music production, along with evidence of subject expertise and industry engagement.
  • Proven experience in a leadership and management role within higher education, with a track record of driving teaching quality and student outcomes.
  • A strong background in curriculum development and a deep understanding of quality and standards in higher education, particularly in the creative arts.
  • Experience teaching in higher education, with a relevant teaching qualification or Fellowship of Advance HE.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A dedication to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of your work.
