About the role

The Faculty of Engineering and Design is looking to appoint an Instrumentation & Electronics Technician to work as part of a multi skilled team providing high quality support for the teaching and research programmes within our Faculty Services Department in the Faculty of Engineering and Design.

Skills provided by the team include the use, commissioning and configuration of electronic test and instrumentation systems, electronic and electrical circuit design, testing and construction, electrical safety testing and inspection (PAT). The post holder will contribute to the design, support and maintenance of electronic systems used in a variety of laboratory rigs.

About you

Applicants should have:

  • served a recognised electronics engineering / technical apprenticeship.
  • a minimum of GCSE level qualifications (a BTEC HNC or C&G in electronics or electrical engineering or a related subject an advantage).
  • experience of working within an electronics or electrical workshop, laboratory, or research environment.
