Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent

The University of Oxford is looking for a highly-effective Senior Business Analyst to support investment in the digital infrastructure underpinning its world-leading research.

This is a hybrid role meaning that whilst you will be based in our offices in central Oxford - and will be expected to come to site as required for key project activities and practice meetings - you will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

 What we offer

  • An excellent contributory pension scheme
  • 38 days annual leave
  • A comprehensive range of childcare services
  • Family leave schemes
  • Cycle loan scheme
  • Discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans
  • Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs

About the role

  • You will work collaboratively with the portfolio team, as well as with representatives from academic Divisions, departments and colleges, end-users, system and process owners and technical teams to identify and define technology, process and other solutions to end-user requirements.
  • Alongside demonstrable professional skills and experience, the postholder will exhibit the curiosity, attention to detail, and proactivity necessary to quickly assimilate the process and system landscape across the portfolio, including key dependencies, and to build credibility and influence with senior stakeholders.
  • The successful applicant will be supported by the well-established Business Analysis team in IT Services. There will be appropriate training and guidance to help you develop key skills and capabilities as part of this opportunity.

About you

  • You will have experience mapping and designing processes for fast-paced, highly technical and at times complex operational teams, and providing analysis on opportunities for improvement.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to shape your messaging to different audiences, build consensus and bring teams together to make real change at the University.
  • You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex issues and propose effective workable solutions, building on your experience of working in a complex environment with a wide range of parallel and mutually dependent activities.
  • You will have proven experience of working collaboratively with University stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships so that you can understand user needs and represent their voice in this strategic programme of work. Your proven negotiation skills will help with defining the scope of the work and agree on competing user requirements.
  • You will be adaptable and flexible in your approach, able to respond to changing demands and priorities. You will be a self-starter and able to bring clarity where there is ambiguity.

Application Process

If you would like further information about the role, please contact Cristina Iturralde, Cristina.Iturralde@it.ox.ac.uk

You will be required to upload a covering letter with a supporting statement, CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.
