Organisational Context

Summary of the role

The role provides support for the range of activities outlined above and requires close partnership working with a wide range of students and staff. The role is essential for helping Faculties resolve issues and realise opportunities in response to student feedback when they arise and contributes to the continual review/ improvement of the student experience, reporting on the impact of all student partnership activities, particularly in how it supports access and success for all students. While post holders are expected to support the team’s work across the University, each role focuses on supporting activity in a Faculty/campus.

Working under the direction of the Student Experience Officer, you will work with academic and professional services colleagues across the Faculty/Campus, you will develop and coordinate an annual programme of activity to support taught students, manage student feedback mechanisms and identify opportunities to enhance student experience, and support the delivery of a range of dynamic communications. As part of the Student Voice and Change Team you will support and enhance the student experience across the Faculties at the University. This focuses on the University’s Academic Representation system, and internal and external student surveys such as the National Student Survey (NSS) and programme review questionnaires. This also includes activities by which our students can suggest ideas for, collaborate, and lead on building learning communities and developing change to the education experience such as the Students as Change Agents and Partners scheme, and specific department/College projects and events. The team’s role is principally to promote these schemes in line with participation targets, ensure they run smoothly, and support students’ access and success to these activities. The team also plays a crucial role in supporting the objectives of the Access and Participation Plan in particular around creating a more inclusive curriculum and student experience.
