The Clinical School Computing Service (CSCS) is looking to recruit a Network Installation Technician to join its Core Infrastructure Team. We are one of the largest IT departments at the University of Cambridge and provide IT services across all the Clinical School departments and other departments within the University (approximately 3000 staff, 2200 supported systems).

The successful candidate will provide basic network support, including port configuration, switch configuration and network installations, as well as troubleshoot network connection issues.

Candidates should hold an A Level or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline, and will also need to have good communication skills in order to liaise with external contractors to install new networks and small to medium scale extensions to existing infrastructure. We are looking for someone with a positive and enthusiastic outlook, and a genuine interest in Information Technology. The ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, solve problems and a self-motivated approach are also vital.

Fixed term - the funds for this post are available for one year in the first instance.
