BSMS is a dynamic partnership between the Universities of Brighton and Sussex. As part of our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a passionate Lecturer in Epidemiology to join our Global Health and Infection department. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to both innovative teaching and groundbreaking research in the field of global health and infection.

As a Lecturer in Epidemiology, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our students while advancing your own research portfolio. This early career-grade position focuses on both teaching and research, providing a balanced platform to develop and deliver high-quality educational programmes, while establishing an independent research profile. You will work closely with Dr James Price and other academic staff, contributing to the school's mission of excellence in research and education.

About You:

You will be educated to a doctoral level in epidemiology or a closely related field, with significant clinically facing experience in infection. A strong track record of research activity, evidenced by publications and previous research funding, is essential. You will also possess excellent teaching skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students across different levels.

Essential Criteria:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in global health and infection epidemiology.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software.
  • Experience in applying epidemiological frameworks within clinical settings.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience teaching at the postgraduate level.
  • A recognised higher education teaching qualification.
  • An emerging track record of high-quality publications.
