Oxford Saïd is looking to fill a teaching-only post to support accredited degree teaching in the Marketing area of the School. The successful applicant will have significant experience of teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate business and marketing courses.
Additionally, the School strongly prefers applicants have experience teaching AI and technology-related topics in business.
The Lecturer will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual able to deliver various modes of teaching as required at both the business school and the University, potentially across various degree programmes. These might include small-group tutorials, lectures to larger audiences, and/or facilitated workshops. This will involve working both collaboratively and on occasions independently, possibly across several Colleges within the collegiate University as well as at the School, to ensure high-quality delivery to our students.
 
Closing date is midday on the 16th of September 2024
 
This post is available for a period of up to three years with a one-year probationary period running concurrently. The teaching load for this post is 600 teaching points annually. Some of the points load will be taken with undergraduate teaching and marking (including tutorial teaching) and the remaining allocation could be used to deliver teaching or marking flexibly across other courses and programmes within the business school, such as the Master of Business Administration and other Masters or Diploma courses.
 
Essential selection criteria
  • A PhD/DPhil within a relevant academic specialism, in hand or pending.
  • The proven capacity to teach courses across both a broad range of programmes, including undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and a broad range of subject matter in business and management.
  • Significant experience of leading and developing curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding and innovative teaching.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills necessary for undertaking teaching, and related administrative duties across a complex set of relationships and diverse stakeholders.
