Associate Lecturer Film and Television

The Department of Film and Media at Solent University Southampton is currently in search of an Associate lecturer Film and Television with a background in teaching capable of drawing on industry expertise.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for teaching modules across both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, ensuring an exceptional student experience, achieving graduate outcomes, and working closely with the course leader. The role involves developing and overseeing course content, leading modules, conducting research-led teaching, providing supervision, assessment design, pastoral support, and actively contributing to the university's strategic objectives. Demonstrating an ability to contribute to research and knowledge exchange initiatives is expected.

We are seeking a candidate with a relevant academic qualification (preferably a Ph.D. or equivalent) in Film, Television, Media Studies, or substantial industry experience in a related area. Your demonstrated expertise and professional experience in the film and television industry will be invaluable in providing students with real-world insights and practical guidance.  Your strong portfolio of creative work will showcase your proficiency in film and television single-camera production, allowing you to effectively demonstrate and teach the necessary skills to students. Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and software used in film and television production is essential. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are also vital for this role. Your ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic community and your commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment will contribute to the overall success of our students.
